Comment by LadyHawkღ on May 26, 2016 at 11:15pm: Jorgelito, the method of loci is worth a try. Just make sure your palace (your journey) has enough tranquil and relaxing memory stops along the way. Maybe if it brings enough peace to yourself and the others involved it may have an overall effect on the difficult one. Anything is worth a try!

I spoke with one of my roommates about having family meetings to get things out in the open. He suggested something different called “memory palace” or “method of loci” known to Cicero to help remember things by associating them with familiar places, maybe walking through a palace where the memories fall into place by themselves.

What my roommate remembers are states of mind. He had a stroke. This helps him. For example when the “other” roommate starts spouting off, go to the produce department of the supermarket, he says, The little ol’ lady looking at the celery is very relaxed as she looks at the celery. “That’s what you want to do,” he says.

This has a lot of possibilities.

Comment by LadyHawkღ on May 26, 2016 at 9:07pm: Jorgelito Hagens here in the cabin we usually pick up a cup of coffee before the pen! Kidding aside... I rent my bedrooms out and have 3 men here and sometimes things get a little tense. I'm lucky because they can get into a minor scrap and then apologize to each other later and all is well. It's not good to be in your home and have to tip toe around. The only thing I can suggest is you speak to the others and then have a family meeting with him. Things may get a little heated because of the level of frustration but it might be better just to get it out in the open. Our first family meetings here were a little tense but now the guys can bring their list to the table and we can find some humor in changes that need to be made. I know my situation here is a little different because I'm the landlady with the Mom attitude. Even as old as my guys are they still know the MOM look!

I am daily dealing with a roommate who enjoys telling the others (me and another) what we should be doing, unaware of being self centered himself. it is not pleasant because all three of us relinquish our freedom (to be ourselves) for the sake of peace. The atmosphere is generally tense and confrontational. The question is how to be cooperative, at peace, in love and enjoy being who we are. Generally solutions start from the heart, but my heart is not clear on the matter!

Well I can hardly believe how much color I have been missing out on I am still wearing sun glasses when the sun is out and white is still blindingly white..but doc says it will get better.. still waiting for the next baby to make her appearance (anytime) and working to get my yard under control..the straw bale garden is great and the tomatos are really growing fast.. tried to get my banks under control but instead I ended up giving my weed eater last rites after 8 years of faithful service..and I have to make minor repairs to my chain saw.. so I see a busy week ahead .. May you all have a peaceful and fruitful week as I enjoy living and tending to everything wonderful in my life...
