Has been a busy few days and when the Dr discovered i still have a heart beat.i knew i needed to step up the pace. With the cold weather we are all working to make sure the Homeless have a warm place to go and those who refuse shelter have what they need.
i hope everyone in California is safe from the harm of the wildfires that seem to be destroying many homes taking with them many momentos that are irreplaceable.. but the lives of the People is much more impotant beacause the momentos are also stored in tne memories vault of their heart.

Tsoi Tawodi I enjoyed reading your comments about the beautiful hummingbird whose humming sound delights! They have so much to teach, but for me its their beauty that teaches using no words at all.

As the light of yesterday ended I sat outside enjoying the Majectic beauty of a pair of my Eagles that often fly over head... They sat so peacefully in the top of the tree just above where they have their nest from last year.. Ending a wonderful dry but windy day.. And now the new day has started with yes my Hummingbirds, and Strawberry (my doe) who loves jam on her toast.. her daughter from 2 seasons ago is not so picky she will eat anything including summer squash..Many who know me laugh when I say well they survived another hunting season..of which I am not ashamed for I was taught to not harvest unless it is a need for family food..was raised on the story of the slaughter of the buffalo and both of my Native Families told the story each with a little different twist, but always with the same ending of waste not want not any blessings from our Higher Spirit..
This morning is warm and no winds like yesterday so I leave you all with the wish of beauty entering your world today maybe large or small.. So smile everyone and count your blessings

This is a month of special meaning to so many people and I wish each of you a good month filled with love, peace and harmony no matter your endeavor.
I often read Loretta's posts and she mentions hummingbirds that visit her quite often and it reminded me of things I was taught in my early years about these bringers of joy and smiles.
Hummingbirds are amazing in that their life depends on visiting flowers and taking in the nectar as they go from one to the other and teaches us that we too have the opportunity to seek out the sweet and beautiful parts of life each day as well. They depend on this nectar for life and in a way our life depends on how much sweetness and beauty we take into our hearts and mind as well since dwelling on hate or misery can literally shorten our life. Hummingbird will often migrate thousands of miles to find this nectar of life and begs us the question of how far are we willing to go in order to see beauty? Hate is easy to find....it is everywhere these days but that sweetness of life is closer than we may think if only we are willing to 'travel' with our heart and mind to seek that out first with people, places and things. Hummingbird can fly amazingly fast and stop on that figurative dime and reminds us that as we fly through daily life things may come up where we have to stop on that 'dime' and give thought as to what may be taking place. Hummingbird is the only bird that can fly backward at will and there are times we too may have to back up from a situation and take stock of what is happening. Hummingbird can also fly upside-down and keep going and is a reminder that even if our own world seems to be upside down at the moment that we can persevere if we work to straighten up our path right away and keep moving forward. Their wings flap at over 50 times per second so they expend great energy in their quest for seeking out their life saving flavors of life and we too may at times have to expend great energies in getting things accomplished in a good way. A hummingbird cannot walk so if they wish to move only a short distance they must fly and can help us appreciate there are times we need to lighten up and move on rather than being stuck on a branch of life that does not suit us. Their wings make that humming sound that lets us know they are close and that generally brings a smile to our face and also reminds us to let our own voice let others know we are there and hopefully that brings a smile to their face as well.
Hummingbird is like us...one of a kind and very special...a bringer of joy which we can be also, one who seeks the good things in life rather than the bitter things, and one who reminds us to look in our own mirror and see that beautiful gift reflected back to us.
Thank you Loretta for your hummingbird friends....which in Cherokee are Walela... Wah-lay-lah
See your own beauty each of you and think of all the things animals and the natural world can teach us.
Sidanelai (we are all family)
Tsoi
