November 24, 2014 - New York, NY. Hosted by multi-platinum selling recording artist, A Taste of Honey's Janice Marie Johnson, the 15th Annual Native American Music Awards (NAMA) will be broadcast nationwide on FNX-TV, First Nations Experience this Thursday, Thanksgiving Day November 27th at 8PM EST/5PM PST with a repeat broadcast on Saturday, November 29, 2014. The awards show will also be available on the FNX website at www.fnx.org/namas2014 simultaneously to the television broadcast on Thursday.

The Native American Music Awards is the country's largest celebration of both traditional and contemporary Native American music. It was founded as the world's first and only professional membership-based organization for the advancement & recognition of Native American music expressions around the world.

Located inside the Allegany Indian Reservation, a territory of the Seneca Nation of Indians (one of the six tribes of the Iroquois Confederacy), the 15th Annual Native American Music Awards was held at the Seneca Allegany Events Center at the Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel in Salamanca, New York. Featured performers include: Seven-time award winner Indigenous, fronted by Mato Nanji whose has toured with BB King and whose music has been featured on national radio and TV shows; Season three American Idol finalist Charly Lowry and her award-winning band, Dark Water Rising, former NFL player and opera singer, Lawrence Harris, who has been critically acclaimed as a "major voice" by the NY Times and received a standing ovation; and Jamie Coon, whose music has been heard on the TV Show Ghost Whisperer, plus witness the first time a contemporary drummer beats along to two pow wow drum groups and much more. Other award winning performers include: Jan Michael Looking Wolf, Leah Shenandoah, Wayne Silas Jr, Plentywolf Singers, Lightning Creek Singers, Jim Boyd, Buddy Big Mountain and more. Special guest presenters include: Caren Knight Pepper, the wife of the late Jim Pepper, Dylan Jenet who recently signed to Stevie Wonder's record label, and numerous other nominees.

The 15th Annual Native American Music Awards Commemoration will be broadcast on First Nations Experience, FNX, on Thanksgiving Day, November 27th at 8PM EST/5PM PST with a repeat broadcast on Saturday, November 29, 2014. This monumental partnership marks the first time the NAMAs are televised in their fifteen year existence. FNX is currently being offered to Public Television Stations and cable/satellite service providers across the country and is available to for distribution anywhere in the continental US and Hawaii. The feed can be previewed by such entities at SD08 on the Public Television Interconnect (Satellite) System. FNX parent station KVCR-PBS in San Bernardino, CA will broadcast a captioned version of the show on December 27th @ 9PM (PST).
