Good one Loretta...Whipper Snapper....LOL....been awhile since I heard that one but you do have a point. Been snowing here all day and I kept looking out the window waiting some some young good Samaritan to come by and do my drive way out of the kindness of their heart but think they were wise to my thoughts and stayed away so I summoned my two and a half ounces of energy, grabbed the snow shovel and went out side and 'gotter'-dun'.
Wish I could send this white stuff to California to help with the fires. When we lived in the mountains of So. Cal. we had to evacuate one year for 7 days...not fun for sure.
Hope the rest of you have had a great weekend and are staying warm. A new week is near...a new chance to see your own beauty and share your wonderful smile and encouragement with others... Sidanelai

This world and all that's in it is a mystery to yet be discovered.. Or at least that's my opinion .. While making Divinity my candy thermometer decided to do something I have never seen happen.. The mercury divided itself part of it is at the bottom where it belongs and but 1\4 is at the very top where it should not be.. Guess it is back to the old way or my seniors who love divinity without nuts will not be happy.. Think next year I will join the seniors and let some other young whipper snapper make the candies and cookies... Wishing everyone a beautiful day.. Smile

Thank you Val for sharing your story and am glad things are better now for the two of you. My wife and I moved out of California 4 years ago because of the expense also. We had lived in Big Bear at 7,000 feet which was beautiful nearly 30 years ago when we moved there but prices are now out of sight in so many ways. We moved to Washington state which is beautiful here on the east side...near the Idaho border and it is 20 miles to the nearest town to do most of our shopping but do love it for sure.
Best wishes on your move....as long as the two of you have each other you have a great chance of success and as you both know from experience...that love conquers many stormy days along our earth walk.
May your weekend be filled with peace, harmony and love for the both of you.

Tsoi Tawod as to what you shared regarding major event...

my hubby and I many many many years ago; 25 years ago; lost a business; a flood restoration company (the days before internet) and the only way to advertise was the Phone book. We tried to keep this business alive but it proved too much so we did end up homeless for about 3 months. We would stay in a motel sometimes when the weather was bad, or find a place to park the car and sleep.

We rebuilt a business (window cleaning and repair) and from there were able to get into a new apartment, then I was able to begin part time college classes then got into work with the volunteer fire department then onto homeland security for a couple of years. My hubby would spend each spare moment reading up on computer programming and got into that line of work.

After a few years we decided to work together again, and are keeping fairly busy..happily so! We repair indoor plantation shutters, and it is rewarding if not at times dealing with weird clients...but overall we enjoy.

Now, speaking of reaching out, there are so many that have lost everything in the fires, so again we sort through our stuff and what we do not use or wear will be going to donations.

Our lease is coming up and we are NOT renewing due to how high it is going to be. We are planning an out of state move to where it is much more affordable and the air cleaner! So, the less stuff I have to pack and move the better!

Seems the days go by so quickly
And we have been so overly busy in recent days
So reason I have not stopped in.

I do hope everyone is doing wonderfully?

Health-wise all are great here, just wishing for that vacation time!

We are safe from the fires, nowhere near thankfully, but we do pray for all of those affected by the fires, especially that horrible one up north in Ventura county.

Stay safe everyone and may peace, love, joy and harmony prevail

It is Friday again and I hope all of you are doing well this day as many make plans for the days ahead. Please give a thought of gratitude to our troops who are away from home right now as many are in harms way. And here at home not all have a warm place to sleep or loved ones around them but they are still our brothers and sisters. It may be cold outside but we can share a warm heart with them and realize that not all are there by choice. We are all only one major event from being in dire circumstances so please enjoy what you have and reach out to those in need. With all the anger in the world we have the opportunity to offer peace and hope. Enjoy your weekend everyone!!! Remember that beautiful and wondrous gift you see when you look in your mirror.
Touch life and others with love, kindness and warmth and one day perhaps you will look over your shoulder and see flowers growing in the footprints you leave behind.
