July 12 - Daily Feast
When forced to wait, do it with patience. But do not waste the time. This time is for a purpose, a time to remember words of truth and grace, a time to let the fount of faith refill the arid spirit. Patience comes willingly when a minute is used wisely. It forces nothing but lets power, drop by drop, refill a weak body and depleted soul. Practice receiving, practice gratitude, say what you want - not what you think you are going to get or what you deserve. Wait patiently - but never empty of purpose.
~ You have many buffalo to eat and tall grass for your ponies - you could come and go like the wind. ~

"Each man is good in the sight of the Great Spirit."
Our bodies are both physical and spiritual. At our very center we are spiritual. Our bodies are built around the spiritual. The center is the unseen world. Therefore, we cannot see it with our eyes and we tend to judge the body because we can see it. The body is not who we are. We can see the spiritual if we are spiritual ourselves. We won't see this always with our physical eyes. Usually we will see it with our spiritual eye. We will hear ourselves say "I know this to be true."
At the center of all human beings is the place of good. That includes myself. At my very core is good. I can find this place by staying free of resentments, fear, dishonesty and self-seeking motives.
My Creator, keep me free this day of resentment, selfishness, dishonesty and fear.
"THINK on THESE THINGS"
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler
Remember all those times when you made three trips to the other room to get something, and before you got there you had already forgotten what it was? Didn't the thought of age dimming your memory enter your mind at those times?
There's really no need to waste time thinking that way. It is not the case of a scattered memory but a skittery mind, jumping from one subject to another with only circumstances to remind you.
And haven't you awakened sharply in the middle of the night because suddenly you remembered something you should have done, or something you must do? Age again? No, it was the only time your subconscious mind ever found you quiet enough to remind you of something you wanted to remember.
Life would be so much more orderly if we took several minutes night and morning to sit completely away from outside sights and sounds to recall the important things. As long as we are able to see and hear the activity about us we have difficulty thinking soundly. The conscious mind is capable of carrying just so much, and then the debris must be cleared away before the "filed away" things in the subconscious can be remembered.
"Be still and know...."
