I enjoy hearing (feeling really) the stillness inside things like waiting for a bus by hearing the life going on around it. It can work for traffic jams and the laundromat too.

I would like to hear the stillness in so many things, even depression. Listening to Stillness of Rock and Stone gave me an idea. Replace the roar of the ocean with the roar of life. Let life include suffering, hopelessness and a traffic jam!

I think the real adventure begins when we allow anything to happen anytime. Travel and yearning to explore new places is part of being alive. Something intrinsic in us. Allowing anything to happen without judgement or block is something we do well when we're relaxed and quiet inside.

I think It's probably because we human beings want to be alive. Travel to new places does it. The smell, touch and taste of new things does something inside unlike anything else.

Something like it. I was on a train in Spain. The night was very black. All you could hear was the clakety clack of the train. The sound of the tracks punctuated the stillness of the land so you hear the quiet. Same idea of the cricket. You wouldn't hear the silence were it not for that cricket.
