Who Are We And What Is IT?

Are we energy? We can feel, touch and see energy. But it seems we are something more that can’t be described, named or quantified like energy.

Are we the one who gets our mail? Is it Soul? Spirit? True Self? The Upstairs Dept? These are things we may or may not inhabit. But are we these things?

We know we ARE, of course, and this is reassuring. And it feels correct to say IT lives within us, maybe more. But what exactly is THAT / IT / HIM / SHE??

Palm trees grow and rents are low

But I got an emptiness deep inside

And I'm not a man who likes to swear
But I never cared
For the sound of being alone
