If Only
If only man could find peace within himself
Like that witnessed this day
Birds singing
Deer and Elk in the meadow and by the stream
Disturbed by nothing
Not even me
The sun was shining today
A gentle breeze
The young creatures romping and playing
While Adults layed watching
Serenity
I watched a never ending peaceful sight
Wondering if the Adults
Worry about Mankind
Crowding them out
Taking their lands as mankind
Took the land of the Native American Indians
Removing all traces of what used to be
Free and roaming tribes
Free and roaming creatures of God
Will the greed in the world today
Deny the future generations
The beauty I saw today
Will all of this beauty become a thing of the past
To only be read about
Or seen in paintings
As one who loves nature
The beauty of all 4 seasons
Love all Gods creatures large and small
I fear the greed of mankind
