I might get the other half of the marble gravel removed next year. Am thinking that it will be easier to remove the mulch when needed.

Thank you for the link to the video. I've been in my house for 3 summers now and this is actually the first year I've been able to start clearing an area for my garden. I'll get there...eventually!

Thanks...the puppy is actually full grown. She is the neighborhood traveling salesman. I have put a collar on her several times though thier owner does not want to claim her if she gets into trouble. lol...I need to haul in some dirt also for a inclosed flower bed. I do not have much of a green thumb. I think the moles ate my pumpkin seeds. leaving a link to native gardening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn2uYIih0LU

Mulch is much easier! I have a flower bed that has lava rock and it's a pain trying to plant anything. Taking the lava rock out is on the to do list for next spring. Right now I'm working on a raised garden bed. We have heavy red clay here and it's too hard to turn for a vegetable garden. Plus my backyard is all trees so there are roots running everywhere.
