Finding Ourselves Again

Treading water

Trying to find a way back

Remembering everything beautiful in the past

All the trials  overcome and  not

The good the bad and sad

Memories our lives were built on

The loss of a loved one

Who is here  but not

The struggle to  find oneself

Finding meaning of ones being

Finding beauty in  a world  with someone

Who sees the beauty

Yet forgets it  immediately

Or  remembers a distant memory

That once was them

And questions who it was

Watching what was  once fade away

Knowing  one day it will all fade away

Knowing you have to find a self worth

A reason for being

A joy for  yourself that will sustain you

Through all the ups and downs

Knowing if things were as in the past

They would not want you sad

Lost and looking for the person you should be

To love  and live life

As it is

To enjoy each moment even though

The tomorrows are unknown.
