April 9 - Daily Feast
Nothing stays impossible when hope emerges from a remote chance to a clear-cut burning desire that is so complete in detail the mind accepts it as real. Wishing and expecting are as different as the thorny vine and the fragile fern. Don't let a living soul keep you from the mental picture that your dream is coming true. It can either be wishful thinking or it can be eager expectation. Expectation has every detail memorized and ready. Hoping and wishing is waiting and waiting and waiting.
~ An abiding love filled his being with the joy and mystery of living.... And made a place for all things... ~
LUTHER STANDING BEAR - CHIEF OF THE TETON SIOUX

Elder's Meditation of the Day - April 9
"Everything really is equal. The Creator doesn't look at me any better than He looks at the trees. We're all the same."
Sometimes humans think we are the center of the Universe. Sometimes we think we are above or better than other people or things. The Great Spirit made a set of Laws and Principles by which all things should live. Everybody and everything lives by the same Laws. We are all made of atoms just like the trees. The life force in the middle of the atom is the life force of the Great Mystery. It is the same for everything. We are all equal in the eyes of the Creator.
Great Spirit, today, I will respect your handiwork.
'THINK on THESE THINGS'
By Joyce Sequichie Hifler
Today I heard the laughter of children at play. Their voices filled the air almost like chimes. And I felt their arms about my neck and their sticky kisses on my face. How blessed I am! Today I heard a mockingbird trilling out every single song it ever heard from its winged friends. I closed my eyes and in the trees I heard all the voices I've heard since childhood, and it took me through all the happy, breathless, precious times I loved so much.
Today I heard my mother's voice calling to me happily. It was a good, strong, healthy voice that has called to me courage, and hope and peace, and shall continue to call down many lanes to me.
Today I heard my child's voice. I heard her singing. I heard her praying. I heard her laughing and talking. I heard her teasing and moving from place to place in all the activities I love to see her in.
Now, even more than ever I realize how grateful I am that God has given me the excellent faculty of hearing. I shall with all diligence try to hear nothing evil, but only love and peace which is my heritage.
