Be tolerant and understanding towards those who have different beliefs and opinions-enough to understand what and why - requires the ability to temporarily leave their beliefs. Naturally, this should not, no way, be done rejecting these people, but leave them where they are; while you put yourself in the situation someone else's to understand their point of view. This skill cannot be acquired without sufficient humility and selflessness, thus making it possible to maintain, even for one second, a viewpoint that displeases us.
