I have taken it upon myself to update WN's international calendar but I require your input. I can add some Canadian dates to the existing American ones but I need help with dates from other countries. For example, I know Australia Day is in April but I can't remember which day. Likewise with Mothering Sunday in the U.K. that occurs in March. So please list the holidays from your country so this calendar can truely be called International.

August 1st National Day of Switzerland Switzerland was founded 1291
WOW...1291!
Yes and I also recommend you to go to WIKIPEDIA and look there a bit what Switzerland is all about. I think it is the best form of Constitution and Governance worldwide, even also today have some "glitches" LOL
the first 2 weeks in october is the cherokee's new year.
Here goes....in England we have the following:
New Year's Day; Good Friday; Easter Monday, Early May Holiday (used to be Whitsuntide); Spring Bank Holiday; Summer Bank Holiday; Christmas Day; Boxing Day.
Scotland: New Year's Day; Bank Holiday (day after); Good Friday; Early May: Spring Bank; Summer Bank; St. Andrew's Day; Christmas Day; Boxing Day.
Northern Ireland: New Year's Day; St. Patrick's Day; Good Friday; Easter Monday; Early May;Spring Bank; Battle of the Boyne; Summer Bank; Christmas Day; Boxing Day.
Our Mother's Day is known as "Mothering Sunday" and it is a different date every year because it ties in with Easter. We also have St. George's Day on 23rd April (we are trying to get this as a national holiday); Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter Sunday.
We also have November 5th as Guy Fawkes Day and November 30th as St. Andrew's Day.
If you would like me to send you a calendar for 2012, let me have your mailing address and it will make life so much easier-LOL.
Hope this little bit helps. Couldn't give you any dates as the differ throughout the year of course.
PS The reason for the "Bank" after some of them is because at one time these were the days that the banks closed for business.
