Sorry, I forgot to tell you that our site creator has just moved cross-country and will be without Internet for a while yet. If you have any questions though, please feel free to ask me or one of the other admins.
I live within an hours drive from Crazy Horse Monument, Mount Rushmore, Wounded Knee and a whole mess of other places that hold historical value. It's a little farther drive to see boothill up in Deadwood though (big tourist trap up there). Getting to these places you almost have to drive thru the heart of the Black Hills. Now if I were to head east, I would hit the Badlands and their beauty. For me these are all day trips and if you know where to go, don't cost a lot of money.
I have a friend who lives in the Abu Dabie area and before she had gotten married she vacationed in Africa. She sent us pictures and I thought how much they looked like different areas of the U.S. and had thought, at that time, maybe someday I would like to visit that country. But now, it is almost impossible to travel outside the U.S. without having a lot of cash to do so. Even visiting places in the U.S. have become expensive. I guess that's why I moved further west so that my children, who still live at home, can see some of the places that they've only read about in books.
Their song is beautiful. In the little valley that I live in, we can tell when one of the mountain lions are coming thru because the coyotes are quiet and the deer head for places unknown until the cat leaves. Last summer, I saw a young coyote, just about hit him with my van while driving down one of the dirt roads out of town. Don't know who was more frightened, him or me. I did stop in time and he ran off into the field. We also have wild turkeys that roam the area. They help keep the cricket population down (those crickets get into everything if you're not careful).
I bet the call of the Dingoes are just as mysterious as the call of the Coyotes where I live. The folks here are very nice and we try to keep out those who would do harm to this group. Please feel free to ask any question you may have. I'm one of the admins on here and if I don't know the answer, I can find out. If you what to start a group, feel free but please check to make sure it isn't duplicated (have some who will start a group just for the heck of it then turn around and start another one with the same subject matter but under a different name) or just join any of the fine groups on here. If you feel that you're being harassed by another member, please let us know and we will deal with it.
Welcome to our Warrior Nation family Patricia. Join in and enjoy. You are on a different time scale to the Americans and more so to me here in England. But the internet covers the world, thank goodness so time is not important.
