Ever notice our perception of silence is acute when there's a rhythmic sound that punctuates the quiet. Like the drip of a faucet or the clack clack of a train.

And that absolutely no sound can remove the familiarity of our world (and our comfort zone) freeing us, allowing us to think and feel in ways we did not before.

New Snow

I remember winter at Lake Tahoe.  The quiet of the fresh snow was wonderful!  No footprints no sound only your breath.  And no worry,  just the smell and sound of snow.
