ALMA

ALMA stands for Atacama Large Millimeter Array.  It is an array of 66 telescopes connected to each other acting as one large telescope.  It is located in the Atacama Desert of Santiago, Chile.  The array has been fully operational since 2013 providing insight on star birth during the early universe.
