What path will you choose today?
light or dark
crooked or straight
sandy or rocky..
When you stand at a crossroad
do you care which one you choose
does it really matter?
I like a path that climbs..leads up,
be it desert or mountain pass
climbing up..higher..higher where
only Eagles fly..and snow clings
year round.
Sometimes I like the desert
in the early spring.
Wildflowers bloom then,
water holes are full and animals
visit in early eve.
Once I saw a Jaguar long ago
in New Mexico flowing down a canyon
like a black and orange stream, almost
like a ghost..unreal..wonderful
on a path only he could walk.
Sometimes I walk a path in the city
mostly in the rain..like Seattle
or San Francisco the rain cleans the air
and the streets..when you walk slow
you mostly walk alone others hurry by
seeking shelter..and the sea and sky
are the same color.
What is your path?

Sometimes my path winds along a shore-line
in olden times San Clemente to Dana Point
maybe Laguna .
Summers growing up in the 50s at Doheny-surfing
grunion hunting at night at the surf line.
The path changing with age north to Stinsons Beach
above Frisco,'on to Fort Bragg using Highway 1 north to Coos bay.
Sometimes my path winds along an Alaskan shore where the mountains drop
thousands of feet to the sea below with the tree-line ending just feet from the water.
Still onward my path into the Arctic..onto the ice Grey Whales and Orca's into the Inuit lands
and where Nanook the white ghost of the north still struggles to survive.
I have been blessed by my Creator to have walked this and many other pathways in my time
and now as my last years are passing I remember them still..these and the many left untrod
left for others to find.
Sadly most of the areas in the far north are changing or have changed from the way they were in my time do to Global Warming and Drilling for oil.

We'll get to see colors like that when we get to Summerland!
