Ever notice our perception of silence is acute when there's a rhythmic sound that punctuates the quiet. Like the drip of a faucet or the clack clack of a train.

And that absolutely no sound can remove the familiarity of our world (and our comfort zone) freeing us, allowing us to think and feel in ways we did not before.

New Snow

I remember winter at Lake Tahoe.  The quiet of the fresh snow was wonderful!  No footprints no sound only your breath.  And no worry,  just the smell and sound of snow.

Yes! like in a snowstorm when the wind is silent..and your own breathing is the nights only sound..lying in your bag while the snow slowly covers you..it's wonderful being alone..not lonely..just at peace with your Creator ..and yourself. A'HO
